A bill to strengthen the assignment program for durable medical equipment under title XVIII of the Social Security Act and for other purposes.
Durable Medical Equipment Disclosure Amendments of 1981 - Amends title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to require that payment for durable medical equipment be made on the basis of an itemized bill or on the basis of an assignment. Provides that under the terms of the assignment there must be a full written disclosure to a Medicare beneficiary of the equipment supplied and its cost.
