A bill to revise the laws pertaining to the Maritime Administration.
Maritime Act of 1981 - Transfers all of the functions, powers, duties, assets, and liabilities of the Maritime Administration of the Department of Commerce to the Department of Transportation.
Establishes the office of the Maritime Administrator to head the Maritime Administration.
Transfers personnel employed in connection with the functions transferred by this Act.
Directs the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to make such incidental dispositions of personnel, assets, liabilities, records, and appropriations as may be necessary to resolve disputes between the Secretaries of Commerce and Transportation that may arise in connection with the transfer. Terminates the Director's authority 60 days after the date of enactment of this Act.
Makes conforming amendments to specified Acts.
