A bill to direct the Secretary of Health and Human Services to institute a program of voluntary certification for health insurance policies sold in supplementation of medicare.
Senior Citizens Health Insurance Reform Act of 1981 - Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to institute a program of voluntary certification for health insurance policies sold in supplementation of medicare. Sets forth minimum standards for such certification with respect to liability, cancellation, reasonableness of premium charge, and economic benefit to the insured.
Establishes criminal penalties for: (1) misrepresentations in connection with such certification; (2) the sale of specified types of duplicate insurance; and (3) certain activities in connection with the sale of insurance policies in States which have not approved such policies.
