A bill to promote competition in the marketing of petroleum products by providing for a moratorium on further control or acquisition of marketing outlets by petroleum producers and refiners, and for other purposes.
Petroleum Marketing Moratorium Act - Prohibits any major market shareholder directly or indirectly engaged in the production, refining, or transportation of petroleum products from acquiring, operating, or controlling, directly or indirectly, any retail outlet for the marketing of petroleum products which was not acquired, operated, or controlled by such person as of the date of the enactment of this Act.
Imposes civil and criminal penalties for violations of this Act.
