Military Recruiting Information Act of 1980 - Directs the Secretary of Defense to collect and compile directory information on students who are at least 17 years of age, or who are in the 11th grade or higher, and who are enrolled in a secondary school in the United States, its territories, possessions, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Provides that such information: (1) may be made available to the armed forces only for military recruiting and national security purposes; (2) may not be maintained for more than three years relative to each person; and (3) shall be confidential and not open to disclosure other than for purposes of this Act.
Requests each State and local government to make available to the Secretary concerned, upon request, any criminal history information on any person relative to military recruitment and related national security.
