A bill to amend chapter 31 of Title 28, United States Code, with respect to the litigation authority of the Attorney General, and for other purposes.
Department of Justice Litigation Policy Oversight Act - Directs the Attorney General to: (1) submit a copy of any agreement with another agency which affects the litigation authority of the Department of Justice to the congressional judiciary committees 60 days before the effectiveness of such agreement; (2) resolve all legal disputes between two or more agencies (absent other specific statutory authority); (3) submit comments to such committees on proposed legislation which affects the litigation authority of the Department; (4) submit to such committees, with respect to litigation in which the ability of the Department to represent U.S. interests is impeded by existing law, a description of the problem and legislative recommendations upon completion of the litigation; and (5) report annually to such committees on the status of litigation authority and coordinating efforts undertaken.
