A bill to establish a commission to gather facts to determine whether any wrong was committed against those American citizens and permanent resident aliens affected by Executive Order 9066, and for other purposes.
Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians Act - Establishes the Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians to: (1) review the facts and circumstances surrounding the relocation and internment of thousands of American civilians during World War II under Executive Order Numbered 9066 and the impact of that Order on American citizens and resident aliens; (2) review directives of United States military forces requiring the relocation and internment of American citizens, including Aleut civilians and permanent resident aliens of the Aleutian and Pribilof Islands; and (3) recommend appropriate remedies.
Directs the Commission: (1) to hold public hearings in appropriate cities of the United States; and (2) to report its findings and recommendations to Congress within one year after its first meeting. Terminates the Commission 90 days after such report is submitted.
