A bill to provide standby authority for the control of prices and wages.
Economic Stabilization Act of 1979 - Authorizes the President, through fiscal year 1981, to issue such orders and regulations as may be deemed appropriate to stabilize prices, rents, wages, and salaries at levels not less than those prevailing on April 26, 1979.
Establishes a $5,000 maximum fine for, and provides for injunctive relief from, violations of any such orders.
