A bill to amend title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 for the purpose of including mobile home residents and other lower income residents in local housing assistance plans, and to amend section 8 of the United States Housing Act of 1937 for the purpose of requiring proportionality for mobile home residents in the award of rental assistance in certain circumstances.
Mobile Home Housing Assistance Amendments of 1980 - Amends the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 to include persons living in mobile homes and other forms of unconventional dwelling units, if such group constitutes a significant percentage of the population, in State and local community development programs.
Amends the United States Housing Act of 1937 to direct the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to allocate a percentage of the total amount of rental assistance funds to low income families who reside in mobile homes as their principal places of residence in any area in which the number of such families exceeds five percent of the total number of lower income families residing in the area in any fiscal year.
