Authorizes the President to present, on behalf of the Congress, a gold medal of appropriate design to Gerald F. Spiess, in recognition of his distinguished feat as a transatlantic sailor.
Authorizes appropriations of up to $15,000 in fiscal year 1981 to strike such medal.
Authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to strike bronze duplicates of such medal for sale to the public.
States this Act shall take effect on October 1, 1980.
