A bill to require that the Federal Reserve banks shall keep verbatim transcripts of all meetings of their Boards of Directors and make them public under certain limitations.
Federal Reserve System Public Information Act of 1979 - Requires Federal Reserve banks to keep detailed minutes of all meetings of their Boards of Directors. Stipulates that these transcripts be provided to the appropriate committees of the Congress three years after the date of such meeting and be released, at the same time, to the general public with certain deletions. Allows deleted material be made available to the public after a majority vote of the appropriate committee.
