A bill to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended, to prohibit the use of any name in connection with any prescription drug other than the official name designated for such drug by the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare.

Amends the Federal, Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act to require the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare to designate an official name for any prescription drugs within the preview of such Act.

Deems such a prescription drug misbranded if its labeling or advertising bears any name other than such official name.

Authorizes the Secretary to exempt such a prescription drug from this labeling and advertising requirement for up to one year in order to avoid confusion and permit the orderly transition of labeling and advertising names.
