A bill to authorize appropriations for fiscal year 1977 to the Energy Research and Development Administration in accordance with section 261 of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended, and section 305 of the Energy Reorganization Act of 1974.
Authorizes the additional appropriation of $1,500,000 for fiscal year 1979 to continue the program of the Energy Research and Development Administration to assist the State of Colorado in eliminating radiation hazards resulting from the use of uranium mill tailings for construction in and around Grand Junction, Colorado.
Extends the time period during which persons may apply for remedial funds from June 16, 1976, to June 16, 1980. Authorizes the reimbursement of eligible persons for remedial work undertaken at their own expense. Requires the Secretary of Energy to submit reports to Congress detailing actions taken to eliminate the radiation hazards.
