A bill to establish a Department of Food, Agriculture, and Renewable Resources.
Department of Food, Agriculture, and Renewable Resources Act - Title I: Declaration of Findings and Purposes - Declares that the establishment of a Department of Food, Agriculture, and Renewable Resources is in the public interest and will promote the public welfare by assuring coordinated administration of programs for the production of food and fiber and by promoting the best utilization and conservation of the renewable resources of the Nation.
Title II: Establishment of the Department - Establishes the Department of Food, Agriculture, and Renewable Resources, which shall succeed to all the functions, officers, and other personnel, and appropriations available to the Department of Agriculture.
Title III: Transfer of Functions - Transfers to the Secretary of Food, Agriculture, and Renewable Resources, specified functions, bureaus, offices, and services of the Secretaries of Health, Education, and Welfare, and of the Interior, and of their respective Departments.
Title IV: Administrative Provisions - Authorizes the Secretary to exercise any authority available by law to the official or agency from which any function was transferred.
Title V: Transitional, Savings, and Conforming Provisions - Transfers to the Secretary the personnel and appropriations available to functions transferred to him from other Secretaries. Declares that all orders and regulations issued by or in connection with transferred functions shall continue in effect.
Title VI: Effective Date - Makes the effective date of this Act the one hundred-and-twentieth day after the date of enactment, or such earlier date as the President may prescribe.
