Department of Education Act - Establishes the Department of Education within the Executive Branch of the Federal Government to take over specified functions of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare and all of the functions of the Education Division of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
Establishes the Federal Interagency Committee on Education to coordinate all Federal programs affecting education.
