A bill to promote the export of processed timber products by progressively limiting the export or sale for export of unprocessed timber from public lands in the Western United States, and of substitutes for such timber.
Public Lands Timber Export Act - Requires all timber harvested from lands owned by the United States and located West of the one hundredth meridian to be processed in the United States.
Specifies those processed products which may be exported. Prohibits exportation or sale of all unprocessed timber from public lands.
Limits the purchase of unprocessed timber from public lands as replacement for unprocessed timber exported or sold for export from tributary private lands.
Sets forth measures to insure compliance with the terms of this Act.
