A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for comprehensive and quality health care for persons with communicative disorders under the health insurance program (medicare) including preventive functions.
Communicative Health Care Amendments -- Amends Title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to include in the coverage under such Title health care for communicative disorders including preventive, diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative functions.
Provides that payments presently made to hospitals under the Medicare program for services provided by an outside resource shall be payable directly to such outside resource provider.
Defines the term "communicative services' to include speech pathology and audiology services furnished by a physician or other qualified health professional.
