A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 to provide a refundable credit against tax for postsecondary education expenses for tuition and fees paid by the taxpayer attributable to the attendance of a student at an institution of post-secondary education.
Guaranteed Post-Secondary Education for Americans Act - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to allow taxpayers a refundable income credit for specified higher education expenses, including tuition, fees, books and supplies, incurred by the taxpayer for himself or any dependent.
Limits the credit to 80 percent of the first $500 for any individual, 60 percent of the next $500, and 40 percent of the next $1,250.
