A bill to prohibit the introduction, or manufacture for introduction, into interstate commerce of tear gas.
Tear Gas Safety Act - Prohibits, with specified exceptions, (1) the knowing introduction into, manufacture for introduction into, transportation in, or distribution in interstate commerce of tear gas and (2) the manufacture, sale, or possession of tear gas within any territory or possession of the United States, Indian territory, or the special maritime jurisdiction of the United States.
Increases the maximum fine for, and eliminates certain exceptions relative to, similar prohibitions with respect to switchblade knives.
Authorizes the Postal Service to require any person proposing to mail tear gas to explain to the satisfaction of the Postal service that such mailing will not violate this Act.
