A bill to provide for advisory safety standards for public playground equipment, and to provide that such equipment located in federally assisted playground facilities shall comply with such standards.
Public Playground Equipment Safety Act - Directs the Consumer Product Safety Commission to (1) carry out a study of the different types of surfacing materials used in playgrounds and determine the relationship between such materials and the occurrence of accidents and injuries at such facilities; and (2) promulgate advisory safety standards for playground equipment.
Requires playground equipment in federally assisted playgrounds to comply with such safety standards.
