A bill to extend the Commission on Civil Rights for five years, to authorize appropriations for the Commission, to effect certain technical changes to comply with other changes in the law, and for other purposes.
Civil Rights Commission Act - Authorizes the appropriation of such sums as may be necessary to carry out the Civil Rights Act of 1957.
Amends such Act with respect to: (1) the compensation of Civil Rights Commission members; (2) the deadline for a report by the Commission to the Congress on violations of civil rights; (3) establishment of advisory committees to the Commission; and (4) vacancies on the Commission.
Amends such Act to require the Commission: (1) to study age and handicap discrimination; (2) to review related Federal law and policies; and (3) to serve as a clearinghouse for information regarding such discrimination.
