A bill to define the investigative authority of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, to create civil remedies for violations of rights under color of Federal law.
Federal Bureau of Investigation Act - Restricts the investigatory authority of the Federal Bureau of Investigation to: (1) investigations of Federal violations where a reasonable suspicion of a violation exists; and (2) law enforcement activities specifically provided for by Act of Congress.
Specifies a rate of liquidated damages and other relief available for deprivation of right under color of Federal law or for violations of the restrictions imposed by this Act.
Repeals criminal provisions relative to riots, seditious conspiracy, advocacy of overthrowing the government, registration of certain organizations, and interference with the morale of the armed forces.
