An original resolution expressing the sense of the Senate that the President should undertake immediate efforts to obtain a cessation of hostilities in Vietnam through negotiation.

Expresses the sense of the Senate that the President should: (1) request all Vietnamese parties to reopen discussion toward implementation of the Agreement on Ending the War and Restoring Peace in Vietnam; (2) support those elements in South Vietnam who are seeking a political settlement; and (3) make known that future American assistance to all Vietnamese shall depend upon their good faith efforts to obtain a political settlement to the conflict.

Requests the President to submit a report to the Senate within thirty days after the adoption of this resolution describing fully the steps he has taken to carry out the purposes of this resolution.
