A bill to increase the fees and reduce the financial hardships for those individuals who serve on grand juries in district courts, and for other purposes.
Jury Fee Act - Provides that grand and petit jurors in U. S. district courts shall receive a fee a day of: $25 (now $20), or $30 for specified service, or the equivalent of wages, but never more than $100, for attendanace at the place of trial or hearing. Allows payment of an additional fee of $5 a day on specified circumstances.
Sets forth procedures for allowance for payments to jurors outside the contiguous States of the United States.
Instructs the Director of the Administrative Office of the U. S. Courts to establish from time to time a fixed subsistence allowance covering meals and lodging.
