A bill to provide assistance to museums to enable them to maintain and to improve their services to the public during the Bicentennial era.
Bicentennial Era Museum Services Act - Authorizes the Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts to make grants to increase and improve museum services during the Bicentennial era. States that the grants may be used for the construction of displays, the development of staff capabilities, and for other activities which will expand the educational and cultural role of museums.
States that grants will not be made for the construction of new facilities or the addition of any tangible articles to museum collections.
Authorizes the appropriation of specified amounts to carry out the purposes of this Act in fiscal years 1976 through 1978.
