A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to increase the medicare inpatient hospital lifetime reserve from 60 to 120 days and to reduce the daily coinsurance charge applicable for such lifetime reserve from one-half to one-fourth of the part A inpatient hospital deductible.
Medicare Hospitalization Improvements Act - Increases, under title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act, the maximum number of days of inpatient hospitalization coverage from 150 to 210.
Reduces the amount of the coinsurance deduction taken from the amount payable for inpatient hospital services furnished an individual from one-half to one-fourth of the amount of the inpatient hospital deductible imposed under the Social Security Act. States that such coinsurance charge shall apply to all payments for inpatient hospital services after such services have been supplied for 60 days during any spell of illness.
