A bill to establish an advisory commission on future civilian manpower requirements at U.S. military installations.
Defense Civilian Manpower Requirements Act - Establishes a commission to be known as the Advisory Commission on Future Civilian Manpower Requirements at United States Military Installations.
Authorizes the Commission to: (1) make a comprehensive study and appraisal of the present situation and trends regarding the use and employment of civilians at United States military installations; (2) evaluate the current policies, programs and practices of the Department of Defense relating to the utilization of qualified civilian manpower; and (3) make recommendations regarding actions the Federal Government can take to lessen the economic impact that a reduction in the civilian work force has on host communities.
Stipulates that the Commission shall be composed of 25 members. Specifies the officials from government and private industry who shall make up the membership of the Commission.
Empowers the Commission to hold such hearings and act at such times and places as the Commission deems advisable.
Authorizes to be appropriated such sums as are necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
