A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to conform the timing of premium determinations thereunder with the automatic benefit increase provisions in title II of that act, and to provide for studies of malpractice insurance problems among physicians and hospitals.

Revises the provisions of title XVIII (Medicare) of the Social Security Act to conform the timing of preimum determinations thereunder with the automatic benefit increases provisions in title II (Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance) of that Act. Provides for an interim and a long- term study of malpractice insurance problems among physicians and hospitals, to be conducted by the Office of Technology Assessment.

Authorizes appropriations of sums necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
