A bill to encourage State and local governments to provide relief from real property taxes for elderly individuals.
Elderly Homeowners' Property Tax Relief Act - Authorizes the Secretary of the Treasury to pay to the States the amount of any real property tax reductions allowed to the elderly by such States, plus a percentage of the reduction in inverse proportion to the tax rate applicable to elderly individuals.
Authorizes to be appropriated the sums necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act.
