Authorizes the Federal courts, upon the recommendation of the United States prosecutor, to place specified persons charged with Federal crimes in programs of community supervision and services, when the court involved believes that the individual may benefit by such placement, and that such placement is not contrary to the public interest.
Provides for such placement only upon the waiver of stipulated rights by the placee.
Sets forth functions for probation officers relating to community supervision of individuals covered by this Act.
Sets up advisory committees for programs under this Act.
Authorizes appropriations of $2,000,000 for fiscal year 1976 and for each fiscal year thereafter to carry out the provisions of this Act.
