A bill to establish a Joint Committee on National Growth and Development Policy.
Joint Committee on National Growth and Development Policy Act - Establishes a Joint Committee on National Growth and Development Policy. States that the joint committee shall be composed of eleven Representatives and eleven Senators.
States that the duties of the committee are: (1) to make a continuing study of matters relating to the biennial report on uses of land and current and emerging problems of land use required under the Land Use Policy Planning Act and the biennial report on urban growth as required by the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act; (2) to study means of coordinating programs in order to further the policy of this Act and part A of the Urban Growth and New Community Development Act; (3) to assist committees of Congress dealing with legislation affecting land use, national development and growth, and the conservation of our natural resources, by submitting annually a report to the Congress the committee's findings and recommendations; (4) to provide continuing oversight for all Federal and federally financed programs which have significant impact on land use and national development and growth, and the conservation of our natural resources; and (5) to conduct special studies to assist Congress in developing means for improving the coordination of national policies and programs to achieve improved land use planning, to secure the proper allocation of natural resources, to provide for the protection and enhancement of the environment and to assure the achievement of patterns of national growth and development, consistent with the Nation's economic and social objectives.
Directs specified advisory bodies to assist the committee by furnishing information to the committee.
Enumerates the administrative powers of the committee.
States that the expenses of the committee shall be paid from the contingent fund of the Senate.
