A bill to include in the definition of law enforcement officer contained in title 5, United States Code, employees whose duties include both the investigation, apprehension, or detention of criminals and the protection of human lives and property.

Defines as law enforcement officers for purposes of Federal civil service retirement those employees whose duties include both the investigation, apprehension, or detention of individuals suspected or convicted of offenses against the Federal criminal laws, and the protection of human lives and property.
