A bill to amend title II of the Social Security Act to provide that the surviving spouse of an insured worker may authorize direct payment of the worker's lump sum death payment for expenses incidental to the deceased worker's death.

Provides that the surviving spouse of an insured worker may authorize direct payment of the worker's lump-sum death payment received pursuant to participation in the Old-Age, Survivors, and Disability Insurance program of the Social Security Act to the funeral home for his funeral expenses.
