Senior Citizens' Transportation Act - Prohibits common carriers in interstate commerce from charging elderly people more than half fare for their transportation during nonpeak periods of travel.
Provides that any carrier able to show an economic loss solely as a result of charging such reduced fares shall be entitled to the amount of such loss or one-half the amount of fares lost by virture of this Act, whichever is less.
States that in providing financial assistance under the Urban Mass Transportation Act of 1964, preference shall be given to applications which adopt reduced rates for the elderly.
