Establishes the National Commission for the Preservation of Language Resources. Enumerates the duties of the Commission, including: (1) developing a national policy for the identification, preservation, and improvement of language resources; and (2) evolving an active program for the conservation of the language resources of the United States.
States that the Commission shall consist of 10 members who shall be appointed by the President and the United States Commissioner of Education or his designated representative. Provides for four-year terms for such members.
Specifies the powers of the Commission, including the authority to appoint and fix the compensation of such personnel as it deems advisable.
Requires the Commission to submit an annual report of the results of its program to each House of Congress and to the President.
