A bill to amend title 39 United States Code, to apply to the U. S. Postal Service certain provisions of law providing for Federal agency safety programs and responsibilities.
=Title I: Postal Service= - Provides for the application to the United States Postal Service of provisions of law providing for Federal agency safety programs and responsibilities pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970.
=Title II: Executive Salaries= - Executive Salary Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act - Provides a new method for annual adjustment of rates of pay for each level of the Executive Schedule. States that the adjustment would become effective whenever a comparability adjustment is made under present provisions in the statutory salary systems (normally in October of each year). Provides that the amount of the adjustment would equal the percentage of the comparability adjustment, rounded to the nearest $100.
Provides a method for the automatic adjustment of the rate of pay for the Vice President under a formula identical to the formula prescribed for the Executive Salary Schedule.
Provides that the pay of Members of Congress, and congressional employees and officials would be adjusted at the same time and under the same formula used for the Executive Salary Schedule.
Provides that salaries in the judicial branch would also be adjusted under a formula identical to that used for the Executive Salary Schedule.
Includes the offices of Vice President and specified legislative branch officials within the purview of the quadrennial salary review of the Commission on Executive, Legislative, and Judicial Salaries.
