A bill to amend the Public Health Service Act to encourage physicians, dentists, optometrists, and other medical personnel to practice in areas where shortages of such personnel exist.

Provides that under the Public Health Service Act when any physician, dentist or optometrist signs a contract with the Secretary of Health, Education, and Welfare agreeing to practice in an underserved area for no less than 3 years, the Secretary shall pay in full the principal and interest on any outstanding educational loan incurred during such individual's professional training
