A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to eliminate all the deductibles, coinsurance, and time limitations presently applicable to benefits thereunder, to eliminate medicare taxes as the method of financing hospital insurance benefits and premium payments as the method of financing supplementary medical insurance benefits (so that all benefits under such title will be financed from general revenues), and to provide payment for eye care, dental care, hearing aids, prescription drugs, prosthetics, and certain other items not now covered.
Medical Assistance Amendments - Eliminates the deductibles, coinsurance, and time limitations presently applicable to benefits under the Medicare program of the Social Security Act. Eliminates medicare taxes as the method of financing hospital insurance benefits and eliminates premium payments as the method of financing supplementary medical insurance benefits. Provides payment for eye care, dental care, hearing aids, prescription drugs, prosthetics, and other specified items under the Medicare program.
