A bill to provide more Federal assistance under certain housing programs for dwelling units which utilize solar energy.
Solar Energy for Homes Act - Authorizes the administrators of Federal housing programs, established under title II or III of the National Housing Act or (of) title V of the Housing Act of 1949, to increase the amount of loans made on single- or multi-family dwelling units by up to 20 percent where such increase reflects the cost of solar energy equipment.
Amends the National Housing Act to authorize home improvement loans for the cost of acquisition and installation of solar energy systems.
Amends the Housing and Community Development Act to authorize the use of community development block grants for payments to assist in the acquisition and installation of solar energy equipment.
