A bill to establish an office within the Congress with a toll-free telephone number, to be known as the Congressional Advisory Legislative Line (CALL), to provide the American people with free and open access to information, on an immediate basis, relating to the status of legislative proposals pending before the Congress.
Congressional Advisory Legislative Line - Establishes an office, within the Information Systems of the Congress, to compile and make available to the public, by a toll-free telephone number, status information on pending legislation. Directs the Committee on House Administration to make necessary arrangements for the toll-free number and to employ necessary personnel, including bilingual personnel (Spanish-speaking).
Authorizes to be expended from the contingent fund of the House sums necessary for the preliminary steps in implementation of this Act.
