A bill to authorize the Administration of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration to make grants to volunteer fire departments which are unable to purchase necessary firefighting equipment because of the increased cost of such equipment as the result of inflation.

Amends the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act to authorize the Administrator of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration to make grants to volunteer fire departments which are unable to purchase necessary fire fighting equipment because of the increased cost of such equipment as the result of inflation.

States that preference shall be given to volunteer fire departments serving areas having a population of less than 10,000 people.

Authorizes appropriations of $8,000,000 for grants under this Act.
