A bill to amend title 28, United States Code, to provide more effectively for bilingual proceedings in all district courts of the United States.
Bilingual Courts Act - Requires that proceedings in U.S. district courts, in criminal and civil actions, be conducted bilingually where it is determined that a party to such proceedings does not understand the English language. Directs the Director of the Administrative Office of the United States Courts to determine and supply the personnel and facilities necessary to conduct such proceedings.
Authorizes the appropriation of such sums as are necessary to carry out the purposes of this Act. (Adds 28 U.S.C. 1827)
