A bill to authorize engineering investigation, stabilization and rehabilitation of the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel and the construction of facilities for the treatment of the drainage effluent.
Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel Act - Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to rehabilitate and maintain the Leadville Mine Drainage Tunnel in Colorado. Authorizes construction of adequate waste treatment facilities to comply with water quality standards established pursuant to the Federal Water Pollution Control Act.
Authorizes the appropriation of $5,400,000 for rehabilitation and water treatment. Authorizes the appropriation of $12,300,000 for plugging the tunnel, including in such amount funds previously appropriated and expended for maintenance of such tunnel. Authorizes the appropriation of such funds as may be necessary for maintenance of existing structures and additional facilities authorized by this Act.
