A bill to authorize appropriations for the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 and the act of March 3, 1901, for fiscal years 1977 and 1978, and to promote the coordination of fire research.

Authorizes appropriations under the Federal Fire Prevention and Control Act of $15,000,000 for fiscal year 1977 and $20,000,000 for fiscal year 1978.

Authorizes appropriations for fire research and safety of $5,500,000 for fiscal year 1977 and $6,000,000 for fiscal year 1978.

Prohibits the Administrator of the National Fire Prevention and Control Administration from conducting fire research without the specific authorization of the Secretary of Commerce.
