A bill to establish the National Professions Foundation.
National Professions Foundation Act - Establishes a National Professions Foundation to develop coordinated efforts among public professions for the solution of national problems on a multiprofessional basis.
Defines terms used in this Act including "public profession" to encompass accounting, architecture, dentistry, education, engineering, journalism, law, management, medicine, mental health, nursing, pharmacy, public administration, public health, social welfare, and urban planning.
Enumerates the functions of the Foundation, including to encourage the pursuit of a broadly conceived public professions policy which supports the national interest.
Provides for a Board, a Director, the staff and experts and consultants for the Foundation.
States the authority of the Foundation to take action to carry out this Act, including authority to prescribe rules and make contracts.
Authorizes the Foundation to award scholarships for the study of the public professions.
Requires the Foundation to furnish any committee of either House of the Congress with such assistance or information as may be requested.
Authorizes the appropriation for each fiscal year of such sums as may be necessary to administer the provisions of this Act.
