A bill to make it a Federal crime to murder or assault a fireman or law enforcement officer engaged in the performance of official duties by any person traveling in interstate commerce or using any facility of interstate commerce for such purpose.

Makes it a Federal crime to murder or assault a law enforcement officer or fireman engaged in the performance of his official duties.

Provides the penalty of death for such murder and the penalty of imprisonment for not more than ten years, or a fine of not more than $10,000 or both for such assault. (Adds 18 U.S.C. 1116)
