A bill to provide financial assistance for the demonstration of fare free mass transportation and for other purposes.
Fare-Free Mass Transportation Demonstration Act - Directs the Secretary of transportation to enter into contracts or other arrangements as may be necessary for research and development, establishment, and operation demonstration projects to determine the feasibility of fare-free urban mass transportation systems.
Provides that the Secretary shall select cities or metropolitan areas for such projects in accordance with specified criteria.
Authorizes appropriations not to exceed $150,000,000 for fiscal years 1974, 1975 and 1976 to carry out the provisions of this Act.
