A bill to provide expanded support for scholarly, cultural and artistic exchange programs between Japan and the United States.
Japan-United States Friendship Act - Authorizes the appropriation of funds from the money paid by Japan to the United States in settlement of post-war economic assistance for educational and cultural exchange programs with Japan.
Establishes the Japan-United States Friendship Commission to advise the President on the use of such appropriations.
Requires such Commission to issue a final report and cease to exist 30 days after appropriation of all funds available from monies is expended.
