Provides that whoever, through interstae or foreign commerce or the mails, knowingly sells or distributes, or offers or attempts to sell or distribute a list of names or addresses, or names and addresses, of individuals; information concerning the personal or financial condition or activities of an individual; or information concerning the personal or real property of an individual; without the consent of any individual to whom such list or information relates, shall be fined not more than $1,000 or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
Enumerates the circumstances under which this Act shall not apply, including: (1) federally authorized distributions; (2) information used only for law enforcement or national security; and (3) telephone directories, in specified instances. (Adds 18 U.S.C. 1801)
