A bill to provide for a national educational campaign to improve safety on the highways by improving driver skill, driver attitudes, and driver knowledge of highway regulations.
Automobile Driver Education and Highway Safety Act - Directs the Secretary of Transportation to carry on a national educational campaign designed to educate drivers, pedestrians and others with respect to: (1) the dangers incurred when driving on, crossing, or otherwise using the highways; and (2) improving safety on the highways by improving driver skills, attitudes and knowledge of highway regulations.
Permits the Secretary to engage in research, provide training and engage in any other activity which will effectuate the purposes of this Act.
Authorizes appropriations of $85,000,000 for fiscal year 1974, and for each of the two succeeding fiscal years.
